Q: What is the maximum PCM sampling rate supported by the Fosi Audio S3?

A: The S3 is equipped with the AK4493SEQ DAC chip, which natively supports PCM decoding up to 32‑bit / 768 kHz, delivering outstanding resolution. However, due to wireless bandwidth limitations, streaming over Wi‑Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) is capped at 384 kHz to ensure stable, buffer‑free playback. To experience the full 768 kHz high‑resolution audio, we recommend connecting the S3 to your router via the LAN (Ethernet) port, which provides ample bandwidth for stable support of up to 768 kHz. For other input methods (such as HDMI eARC, optical, coaxial, USB, etc.), the actual sampling rate depends on the output capability of the source device; the DAC will support the highest rate permitted by the corresponding input standard.
